Botox for Facial Spasm
Facial spasm is a condition that can occur for an unknown reason in some patients or as a result of Bell’s Palsy. Blepharospasm is a condition where the muscles around the eye spasm and the eye closes too tight. In other cases the spasm can be on the entire side of the face, particularly in patients who have previously had Bell’s Palsy. Bell’s palsy is a virus that causes one side of the face to be weak or paralyzed. It usually gets better on it’s own, but sometimes the nerve signals get mixed up during the healing. These patients often complain that their eyes close when they smile or move their mouth. They may also have tightness on one side of the face or neck that can be very uncomfortable. For these patients, Dr Rodman can also provide treatment with Botox. The areas that are in spasm are injected to help with the tightness and eye closure. Additionally, Dr Rodman is expert injector and will often also give a small dose into the other (normal) side to help match the weak side. Your Houston Botox for Facial Spasm procedure will be performed in Dr. Regina Rodman‘s surgery center located in Houston, TX
